Who We Are
Chanco News is an online publication established in May 2019 at the University of Malawi (UNIMA). Originally focused on covering campus-related issues, it has since expanded to include contributions from writers, offering a platform for aspiring journalists and mass communication students to publish their work and gain practical experience. We have trained 29 media professionals who have pursued various career paths.

To become Malawi’s leading student-driven media outlet, inspiring the next generation of journalists while fostering informed, engaged, and empowered youth across the country and beyond.
